Security - USA - Frightening results of police frisk of trucks
Plattsburgh,NY,USA -Plattsburgh Press Republican -June 15, 2006: -- Almost 20 percent of commercial trucks stopped for routine inspections on and around the Northway last week had to be pulled off the road because of defective driving or equipment... What a shocking indictment of the trucking industry... Anyone who thinks these checks are a waste of time and police resources should give the matter some more thought. For 58 of 325 trucks inspected to be determined to be in such a bad state of mechanical fitness that they have to be ordered off the highway shows how dangerous it is to traverse superhighways shoulder to shoulder with the behemoths...
