Production - Taiwan - PACCAR & DaimlerChrysler AG
Taiwan -Ems Now -11 Nov 2005: -- 1) PACCAR DAF truck assembly outsourcing The PACCAR Group (US) signed an agreement with Taiwan's Formosa Automobile Corp. (FAC) under which FAC will assemble DAF heavy-duty truck cabins and trucks. FAC will be PACCAR's first production base in Asia.-
2) Major China based JV for van production Taiwan's China Motor Corp, DaimlerChrysler AG, and China's Fujian Motor Industrial Group are forming a JV for producing vans in China. Fujian motor will have a 50% share, Daimler Chrysler a 33% share, and China Motor a 17% share. Commercial production to bein in 2007. The JV will serve Asian markets.-
