Freightliner has a new model of its largest truck that will begin rolling off the production lines at its Rowan County plant in January. The new Cascadia become the new Class 8 flagship for its heavy trucks in North America... Martin Daum, CEO of Daimler Trucks, says the new Cascadia is more fuel efficient, safer and more connected to the internet than ever before... Development of the new Cascadia cost Daimler AG $300 million and involved the work of 800 engineers. The new model also took five years to develop... The work in making the new model more aerodynamic has increased fuel efficiency by 8% over the previous model, the Cascadia Evolution, the company says...
